Think On This

Clean water is essential for life, but one in eight of the world's population does not have access to it. This, and lack of safe sanitation, result in over two million people dying from water-related diseases every year. The lack of clean water close to people's homes also affects people's time, livelihoods and quality of life. - Water Aid

Itinerary

The basic plan is to backpack around the east side of the continent of Africa. It will take between one and two years to complete the trek. We hope to connect with individuals along the way from all backgrounds and situations. We want to see communities that are lacking water firsthand as well as people that have been blessed with it, and hopefully even some communities that are in the process of building a well or another solution to bring clean water to their community. The walk will not commence in actuality until Summer of 2011. Till then, we will be passionately advocating for the cause of clean water and raising donations towards the cause.

For security purposes, we will not be listing a specific itinerary on this public website, but if you'd like to know more details, let us know.

If you can see the outline on the map below, that will give you an idea of our general route. We are starting in Cape Town, South Africa and will end in Cairo, Egypt.
